I saw that christmas National Lampoon recently and it's quite funny lol. I didn't know about that series when I was a kid unfortunately. Ever seen Brazil before? weird fantasy film set at christmas with Jonathan Pryce and Robert De Niro. It just sprang to mind as thought about xmas films and it's brilliant. And as I look at those Airwolf pics, I'm reminded of BMX bikes from back in the day lol. Do you remember these? youtube.com/watch?v=tBrN1sLZVik
youtube.com/watch?v=MO_dZEVHVXM

Twins wasn't very popular (or good for that matter), but it was the first comedy that Arnie was involved in. saying that though, it was the 5th highest grossing film of 1988. It sounds a bit lazy of Hollywood to drag that film out of the basement for a sequel. Do they want Arnie and DeVito back again?  I doubt they'd be so up for it nowadays.

Not seen the new Spiderman myself, but am hearing others say that Garfield is good, they got rid of the cheese, but it's story isn't much different to the original 2002 film.  Seemed like a case of 'been there done that' from the trailer we saw.

The Christmas Vacation movie is the best of the bunch in my opinion.  I always watch that, Trading Places and Gremlins at Christmas.  I haven't seen Brazil but I've heard of it.  What's the premise?

Yeah I remember the Raleigh Vector, I always wanted one of those.  It reminded me of KITT from Knightrider or the Streethawke bike.  I never got one though, but I did have a blue Raleigh BMX.   I do remember being a little disappointed that it didn't have the plastic spokes like the "cool" BMX's did lol.  Do you remember the movie BMX bandits with Nicole Kidman? I loved that when I was a kid :)

Arnie seems to be the one doing all the talking for the Twins sequel, it seems he wants to do it. But they don't have a script yet.

Speaking of 80's action stars, did you hear Stallone' son Sage has died? No cause yet, they just found his body a few days ago.  I always remember him from Rocky V.

I saw a movie last night called Killer Joe. Weird stuff, with some nasty and unpleasant scenes.  Also a little bit funny.  Not sure if I liked it or not.

So the Dark Knight Rises this weekend eh, it's getting fantastic reviews.  I can't wait, but I think I may have to book it as there are rumours that most showings are already booked up for Saturday.

Been there and done that is what Disney is best at doing these days.

Commando was a perfect movie, heresy to defile Arnie at his best with a blemish remake.

Never even seen Twins, always thought it looked like a typical modern Hollywood comedy. If I want to see Arnold in a comedy I'll watch "Jingle All the Way"... even if Hollywood did butcher out key scenes in the video release. grrrrrrrr

Only just watched all of the National Lampoon "Vacation" series of movies within the last year. First one was the only time I've ever seen a Bally Astrocade/Astrovision game system in a movie. It is just the five movies right? Vacation, Christmas Vacation, European Vacation, Vegas Vacation, Christmas Vacation II: Eddie's Island Adventure. ALso fairly sure that Christmas Vacation was the first occurance of Wal-Mart appearing in a movie. And should note that from the release date of the movie they weren't even a nationwide retailer yet at that time... now they've practically put everyone out of business. <rolls eyes>

Sad thing is, politics over here have taken center stage for entertainment. Three people still in the running for presidential election.
Obama, who can't decide wether he's Hitler-re-incarnted or god.
Romney, who believes he's training to become a god.
And Ron Paul, who is the only one taking political matters and state of affairs seriously.

So the obvious choice for president is the only man not receiving media attention because he's the least interesting as far as entertainment value is concerned. And since the media sways better than half the votes, that means were going to get stuck with one of the two god-complex idiots. It's entertaining for a while, then the gut wrenching knowledge that one of those morons is set to be the leader of what remains of the free world sinks in and it makes you almost want to apologize to certain deceased dictators for being overly critical of their ruling methods.

Berry/Barrack Obama wins re-election = end of the world as we all know it, Mayan calendatr wins, Nazi zombies ravage the planet with Obama leading the hunt for brains.
Mitt Romney wins = end of the world still coming but no zombies and Mayan's"calendar" is determined to have actually been an ancient recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Mmmmm, cookies.
Ron Paul wins = Obama acknowledges he isn't really black or an American, hell freezes over, the Mayan's return from another dimension to flip over their calendar revealing it's good for another millenium and return mountains of socks thart have mysteriously been invading their realm ever since dryers were invented, all of the communists and muslims spontaneously die off, which leads to peace between all nations, cannibals all become vegetarians, and mankind finally ventures out to take it's place amongst the stars.

And you guys thought you had it bad off with a two horse father son race between Charles and William for king-ship.

THIS

...and this dab is a bit old so yeah, we're deep in 2013 if not 2014.

Politics is sad here, Romney will likely buy his way to presidency. Clinton the lovable goof, W was a village idiot, Obama the false-hope, and Romney the corporate take over.

Well I don't really follow politics on your side of the pond lads.  Although as far as I'm concerned no politician is to be trusted completely.

Well diamond that puts my mind at ease over the Mayan apocalypse lol.  I hope there have been idiots who invested in bunkers in preparation lol.

What crappened Disilusioned?

I love that green city wall. It'd prolly take too much water and I heard if untrimmed, that type of plant could spread everywhere, streets, cover windows, suffocate other trees to death, and in me Cheerios!

Yeah that plant can spread, but that means more jobs for people to keep it neat and tidy :)

Well in work I trusted a more experienced person's opinion but because I put my name to something it came back to bite me in the ass.  Took a while but I think I got it sorted.  Ah well, it's the weekend now and I'll be seeing Batman tomorrow  :D

Speaking of which, did you hear about that nut job that killed 12 people in Denver at a Batman premiere? What kind of people are walking the streets?  Those poor people just went out for an innocent night to enjoy themselves, some of them familys.  I just don't understand how someone can do that.  Paris has cancelled their premiere because of it:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18922567

Anyway I'm going to see it tomorrow, hopefully it should be enjoyable.  Then out for a few drinks and see where the night takes me.  I'll be back on Sunday. Enjoy your Saturday lads.

Official Man of Steel teaser trailer is here :D.  It doesn't give much away, but it's only a teaser after all. This one has Kevin Costner narrating, but there is also a version with Russel Crowe:

Man of Steel - Teaser Trailer with Kevin Costner (HD)

Apparently Michael Biehn was considered for Jonathan Kent.  I think that would have been a great choice.

Dragon Ball Z? I've never seen that show, what is it that reminds you of it?

There was a big debate on IMDB about whether or not Superman could have a contrail when he flies supersonic.  Apparently it is possible, the Wikipedia article about contrails explains it well enough.  Although I suspect the Director just wanted a cool visual effect.

I liked the teaser, I think it sets an interesting tone.  This is how it begins in the comics, with Clarke Kent wandering the world trying to find out where he might fit in,  he doesn't just go from the farm straight to Superman.  So it should be interesting :).  What did everyone think of the tone? I believe the music used is from Lord of the Rings.

Monday is over!

Did I see Ashton Kutcher in the Superman trailer? I hope not, can't stand the guy. What is Costner's role in the film? I thought he had been vanquished to the realms of direct-to-DVD films, lol.
I never knew Biehn was considered for this film though. He also auditioned for a part in True Grit.. shame he didnt get that.

I don't remember that BMX Bandits, but I have actually seen it posted on LoveFilm a few months back.
Is that Inbetweeners remake meant to be a film? couldn't quite tell, but it does look awful with all those stereotypical characters found in a bog standard american teen comedy. Majority of youtube users think its crap too, it's got 90% dislikes. They're most likely British teens who are fans of the tv series I reckon.

Yeah, that Colarado killing spree news was gob-smacking wasnt it.. did he give a reason for doing it yet?
What did you think of the film if you saw it last Friday?

Premise of Brazil: A bureaucrat in a retro-future world tries to correct an administrative error and himself becomes an enemy of the state. A similar sci-fi adventure film to Total Recall in a way, minus the ultra violence and Arnie. well worth tracking down anyway.

Oh DBZ is a Japanese animated show, I think I've heard of it. I just watched the clip you posted diamond, yeah it seems quite Supermanish.  If Superman had been created by the Japanese I imagine this is how he would be.   Superman is better though :yep:

No Kutcher definately isn't in this movie, the only person you see in the teaser trailer is Henry Cavill who will play Superman.  Costner will play his adoptive human dad Jonathan Kent, which I think he will play similar to the character he played in Field of Dreams. Costner got the role that Biehn apparently auditioned for, I only found out myself because it was trivia on the Man of Steel section of IMDB.

The US Inbetweeners is a tv series being done by MTV, it does look like a standard high school comedy to be honest.

The crazy Colarado guy hasn't given any reason yet, or at least the Police haven't released it.  My guess is he was mentally unstable and just went crazy.  I did watch Dark Knight Rises and I kept looking around for any nutters dressed as the Joker ....there were none.  I enjoyed the movie, I still say Begins was the best, but Rises was very good.  I think it was a fitting ending and Hardy was good as Bane ....although it was hard to make out what he was saying.  I don't want to say anything else in case I give something away.

Just watched that trailer for Brasil, it looks quite surreal lol, I may have to give it a watch.  It mentions that it's the same director from Time Bandits, have you ever seen that? Great 80's movie with John Cleese as a rather funny Robin Hood lol.
